Kenya

Kenya, or the Republic of Kenya, is a country in Africa and a founding member of the East African Community (EAC). Its capital and largest city is Nairobi. Kenya’s territory lies on the equator and overlies the East African Rift covering a diverse and expansive terrain. Kenya is home to the biggest Fresh Water Lake in the World; Lake Victoria. The other notable lake in expanse is Lake Turkana, formerly called Lake Rudolf. It’s also home to the Great Rift Valley and the Great Rift Valley Lakes; Lake Nakuru and Lake Elementaita; the home to the pink flamingos and Lake Naivasha, Crater Lake and Lake Baringo. Kenya extends to the south-east where it enjoys an expansive coast line with the Indian Ocean. It is bordered by Tanzania to the south and southwest, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east.

Rwanda is a country in central and east Africa and one of the smallest countries on the African mainland. Located a few degrees south of the Equator, Rwanda is bordered by Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Rwanda is in the African Great Lakes region and is highly elevated; its geography is dominated by mountains in the west and savanna to the east, with numerous lakes throughout the country. The climate is temperate to subtropical, with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons each year.

Uganda

Known as the “Pearl of Africa”, Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa whose diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and the immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the major protected conservancy in Uganda. It’s only accessible only on foot. Uganda has more than 50 protected conservancies and national parks.

The source of the Nile is in Uganda. From Lake Victoria, the Nile transverse across several countries before ending it’s journey in the Mediterranean. At the source of the Nile, the features are characterized by rapids and it’s a major attraction.
